Youth Advancement Committee

At Fantastic First we are excited and committed to moving the youth ministry systematically forward toward an ever growing, healthy and sustainable ministry that will have wide and deep impact in the lives of teenagers and their families. Coordinating the intentional process currently is the Youth Ministry Design team, comprised of seven invested adults from a broad range of the body of the church. The co-chairs of the team are Vicky Rowan and Joe Stevens. We are not just about creating a network of support for Janell as she spearheads the ministry; we are directing the momentum of the church in its commitment to be faithful to the work God has called us to. The blueprints for the metaphorical building project laid out in the report Youth Ministry Architects presented last fall are guiding our work. Currently we are finalizing our database to ensure that we have the most current contact information for each of our families, creating job descriptions for all volunteer areas in the ministry and preparing to identify our most compelling three-year goals and benchmarks so that our focus remains clear.

Together, we are a team that will spend a lot of time on the field this year. And because we are confident God has the ball, we expect that there will be a lot of victories to celebrate.

The Builder's Class: uses the Cokesbury quarterly "Adult Bible Study" which uses lessons to explore the Biblical message and how to apply it to daily life. Facilitated by Harlis Frier.

Journey Through the Bible Class: uses a variety of curriculum to explore the Bible. They also do service projects and support several mission groups. Facilitated by Terry Potter.

Journeys in Faith Class: Christianity, Cults & Religions explores the differences between the different religions. Facilitated by Brad Dent.

Mini-Mester begins on April 25th

Presence by JD Gereear and taught by Sandy Stack

Spiritual Warfare - 5 Top Lies of Satan written by Tony Evans and led by Melinda Hess.

The Commands of Christ written by Tom Blackaby and led by Terry Cone.

Beth Moore's A Beautiful Mind will start on May 2nd, after the class completes the James Mercy Triumphs biblestudy.

Tweens Grapple Bible Study is for 5th and 6th graders. It's a place where they can learn and explore real life questions, and learn to tackle issues head on.

Teen Leadership meets in the Cottage - series will focus on become the best Children's leaders. Those who complete the course will have first dibs on the age group they wish to teach.

Wacky Wednesday - 1st - 5th grade - this year the series is on the Adventures in Boogabooga Land: Stories from the parables of Jesus.

Wee Wacky Wednesday - 5 & 6 year olds - stories, crafts and play time keep this age group entertained. Sonlight Series.

Wacky Wee Wednesday - 2 - 4 year olds - Age appropriate teaching based on the Sonlight Series.

Nursery available for 0 - 2 year olds - stay in the nursery under the care of Miss Cindy. Rumor has it she is the baby whisperer.
